A Secure Windows Desktop Hosted in Azure

Azure Virtual Desktop lets employees work from personal devices without corporate data ever landing on them. We design, deploy and secure a centrally managed, scalable virtual desktop environment for your team.

Data Stays in Azure

Business applications and corporate data are hosted centrally in Azure, not copied to personal laptops.

Same Desktop on Windows or Mac

Users get the same corporate Windows desktop from their own Windows or macOS device, at the office or at home.

Built-In Leakage Controls

Clipboard, local drive, USB and printer redirection can be restricted to match your security requirements.

Centrally Managed & Scalable

One place to manage applications and desktops, with resources scaled to user concurrency and workload.

Solution Components
01
Pooled Desktops
Windows 11 Enterprise multi-session host pool
02
Entra ID
User identity and secure authentication
03
MFA
Multi-factor authentication for every account
04
Conditional Access
Access and security policies, where applicable
05
Virtual Network
Azure VNet for secure network connectivity
06
VPN (Optional)
Private access to on-premises or internal apps
A separate Active Directory server isn't needed for a cloud-only deployment. If your applications need traditional domain services, we add an Azure-hosted AD/DNS server.

Controls Designed for BYOD Environments

Users work from personal devices while business workloads and data stay within your controlled Azure environment.

Multi-Factor Authentication

A second factor is required before any user can reach the desktop.

Conditional Access Policies

Rules that decide who can sign in, from where and under what conditions.

Secure Entra ID Sign-In

Users authenticate with their company identity through Microsoft Entra ID.

Clipboard Restrictions

Copy-paste between the virtual desktop and the personal device can be blocked where required.

Local Drive Restrictions

Stop files from being saved to or pulled from the user's local drives.

USB & Device Restrictions

Block USB storage and other device redirection into the session.

Printer Redirection Controls

Allow, limit or block printing from the virtual desktop to local printers.

Controlled App & Data Access

Corporate applications and data are reachable only inside the managed desktop.

Centralized Monitoring

Security and activity monitoring for the whole environment, managed within Azure.

What We Build in Azure

Virtual Network & Security

An Azure Virtual Network with the required subnets and network security controls, plus public IP and networking components where your design needs them.

User Profile Storage

Storage for AVD user profiles and required data, so each user's settings and files follow them across sessions.

Azure Monitor & Log Analytics

Monitoring and logging for session hosts, sign-ins and performance, with alerts your team can act on.

VPN Gateway (Optional)

Private, encrypted connectivity to on-premises resources or internal corporate applications, if you need it.

Our AVD Implementation Approach

Five phases, from setting up Azure through to a documented handover, with a pilot before any full rollout.

01

Azure & Identity Setup

  • Azure environment & networking
  • Microsoft Entra ID
  • Users & groups
  • MFA & security policies
02

AVD Deployment

  • AVD host pool
  • Windows 11 multi-session hosts
  • User profiles & applications
  • User assignment
03

Security Configuration

  • Clipboard & drive restrictions
  • USB, printer & device controls
  • Conditional Access policies
  • Monitoring & logging
04

Pilot & Rollout

  • Pilot with 2–3 users
  • Validate performance & security
  • Fix identified issues
  • Roll out to all users
05

Testing & Handover

  • Final testing
  • Validate access & policies
  • Configuration documentation
  • Handover to your team

AVD or Endpoint Device Protection?

AVD keeps corporate data in Azure and away from personal devices. Endpoint protection secures the device itself so people can work on it directly. Compare both approaches before you decide.

Frequently Asked
Questions

Can employees use their own laptops with Azure Virtual Desktop?
Yes. Users connect to their corporate Windows desktop from personal Windows or macOS devices. The personal device acts mainly as an access device, while applications and data stay in Azure.
Can users copy company data to their personal device?
Not if you don't want them to. We can restrict clipboard copy-paste, local drive redirection, USB and device redirection, and printer redirection based on your security requirements.
Do we need an Active Directory server?
Not necessarily. A cloud-only AVD deployment can run on Microsoft Entra ID alone. If your applications need traditional Active Directory or domain services, we include an Azure-hosted AD/DNS server.
Can AVD users reach our on-premises applications?
Yes. We add an Azure VPN Gateway when private connectivity to on-premises resources or internal corporate applications is required.
What licensing and connectivity do we need?
Each user needs an eligible Microsoft licence for the chosen Windows and AVD configuration, and users need good Internet connectivity. We review your existing licences and quote anything additional separately, alongside the Azure infrastructure estimate.
How do you roll it out without disrupting work?
We start with a pilot of 2–3 users to validate application performance and security controls, fix any issues, and only then roll out to the rest of your team, finishing with documentation and handover.
